Theme Park Exclusive Merchandise, Manufactured In-House
A theme-park merchandise maker with Universal Studios Japan (USJ) production experience, producing character popcorn buckets, light-up novelty items and gacha/capsule figures — with food-grade compliance and licensor design approval built into the process.
What's behind the bucket at the USJ merchandise stand
Yuetung Electronic Toys is an NBCUniversal approved supplier (factory-audit waiver granted 2014) and has produced Universal Studios Japan (USJ) theme-park exclusives since 2018, including popcorn buckets and merchandise for Minions, Super Nintendo World, Doraemon and Harry Potter among other major IPs.
Theme park merchandise carries a higher bar than typical novelty OEM: buckets are food-contact containers, some items carry electronic light-up or rotating mechanisms, and every design must clear strict licensor approval. Yuetung keeps injection molding, food-grade material sourcing, painting, assembly and inspection all in one factory to meet that bar without outsourcing any step.
This page covers our theme park and event merchandise track record — centered on popcorn buckets — food safety compliance, mold engineering, and the production process behind each run.
Production Record
A selection of character popcorn buckets manufactured for Universal Studios Japan

USJ Minions Unicorn Popcorn Bucket
Large-scale injection molded theme park exclusive popcorn bucket with food-grade PP/PE inner liner, multi-color spray painting and nylon shoulder strap hardware. FDA and Japan food safety certified.

USJ Super Nintendo World Star Popcorn Bucket
Star-shaped injection molded popcorn bucket with slide-action mold, gold metallic spray paint and food-grade inner liner. Nintendo design-approved for Universal Studios Japan.

USJ Doraemon Popcorn Bucket
Spherical split-body injection-molded Doraemon character popcorn bucket with blue-white spray coating and facial pad printing. Food-grade PP/ABS construction for theme park food service.
Food Safety Compliance — Built for Food-Contact Containers
A popcorn bucket is a food-contact container, not a novelty item — it needs material controls and inspection that most merchandise OEM factories don't maintain.
Food-grade PP/PE material
Inner liners use food-grade PP/PE resin compliant with FDA (US) and Japan's food safety law (食品衛生法) standards.
ST Mark & international safety standards
Production is compliant with Japan's ST Mark (Japan Toy Association), EN71 (EU), ASTM F963 (US), CPSIA, CE, FCC and REACH.
Cleanroom production for food-contact parts
Food-contact components are produced in a cleanroom (ISO Class 7/8 equivalent) with anti-static epoxy flooring and air showers, with industrial LEV exhaust at every workstation for VOC control.
100% pre-shipment inspection
IPQC in-line inspection every 2 hours, plus 100% visual and functional inspection before shipment, managed to AQL Level II (Major 2.5 / Minor 4.0).
Mold & Finishing Engineering
The tooling and finishing techniques behind character-accurate, electronics-capable merchandise
Slide-action molds
Undercut character shapes — star forms, character silhouettes — are built with slide-action mold structures that hold dimensional accuracy and clean release across a full production run.
Multi-color spray painting & metallic finishes
Spray booths with full LEV exhaust coverage handle multi-color painting, gold metallic finishes and electroplated-look exteriors matched to each character design.
Pad printing & UV printing for facial detail
Pad printing combined with a TRA 2512Pro industrial UV flatbed printer reproduces facial features and fine design detail to licensor-approved specification.
Strap and hardware pull-test verification
Shoulder straps, hardware and moving mechanisms (such as rotating gear assemblies) go through in-house pull test, vibration test, drop test and sharp-edge test for child-safety compliance.
Process & Lead Time
From design files to shipment, handled in one factory
Design & licensor approval review
We review 3D files (STP/IGS), 2D drawings and licensor-approved artwork to confirm production feasibility.
Mold engineering
Slide-action or multi-cavity tooling is designed and built as needed, with a Golden Sample sign-off before mass production.
Molding, painting & finishing
Food-grade material molding, multi-color spray painting, and pad/UV printing are all performed in-house.
Assembly, inspection & shipping
IPQC every 2 hours, 100% pre-shipment inspection, then ISTA-standard packaging for shipment.
For new tooling, T1 samples typically take 25–45 working days; mass-production lead time depends on complexity and order volume and is confirmed in your quote.

Brand Partners
The factory has Disney FAMA audit experience and is an NBCUniversal approved supplier, with past and current partners including Disney, Universal Studios Japan (USJ), Kawada (nanoblock) and Medicom Toy (BE@RBRICK).
Can you manufacture popcorn buckets that are food-contact safe?
Yes. Inner liners use food-grade PP/PE resin compliant with FDA (US) and Japan's food safety law standards.
Can you build buckets with electronic light-up or moving mechanisms?
Yes — our production record includes buckets with rotating gear mechanisms and electroplated finishes, such as the Harry Potter Time Turner design, assembled in our cleanroom facility.
What's the MOQ and sample lead time?
For new tooling, MOQ is typically 3,000–10,000 units depending on shape and complexity, with T1 samples in 25–45 working days. Re-order MOQ is lower.
Do you manufacture figures for gacha / capsule toy machines?
Yes. We run precision ABS/PVC injection molding with automated counting and barcode-verified blind box controls, covering figure production, painting and pad printing ahead of capsule packaging.
Do you handle licensor design approval?
Yes. The factory has Disney FAMA audit experience and is an NBCUniversal approved supplier, and every run goes through Golden Sample sign-off, Pantone color matching and D65 light-box color checks before mass production.
